UK Chinese Dragon Boat Festival

A dragon boat race at Salford Quays with three brightly decorated boats, each paddled by a team in matching shirts. The closest boat has a team in blue, paddling in sync while water splashes around them. Spectators stand at waterside, with colourful flags hanging nearby.

The UK Chinese Dragon Boat Festival will return to Salford Quays on 13th & 14th June 2026, promising two days of vibrant Chinese food, dance, music, and culture, alongside thrilling dragon boat racing on the water. Races will feature youth teams, amateur crews, and professional competitors from across the UK, coordinated by the BDA.

This year’s festival holds special significance as it aligns with the Salford 100 centenary, further cementing its role as a highlight of Salford’s annual programme of events. On the same weekend, the City of Salford Royal Naval Association will host the prestigious Royal Naval Association National Conference, welcoming veterans, serving personnel, and supporters from across the country.
