Sounds Round Town

A lively outdoor parade scene featuring people in colourful and eclectic outfits. One person in a blue ruffled jacket and white lace cravat dances, while another in a white jumpsuit plays a marching drum. A third person in a pink corset and gloves sings or cheers. The crowd behind them is energetic, waving flags and dressed vibrantly. In the foreground, a bright yellow graphic with stylised houses reads “SOUNDS ‘ROUND TOWN.”

Sounds 'Round Town is returning to Salford's neighbourhoods this summer... bringing a jam-packed series of music, art, workshops and parades to some of Salford's most loved events – all FREE to attend!

By creative producers From The Other and outdoor performance specialists Walk the Plank

Sounds ‘Round Town returns this summer, popping up across Salford to bring a wave of colour, sounds and fun to Swinton Sounds, Weaste Pride, Eccles Fest, and Irlam and Cadishead Festival.

Highlights of the bustling activity include the SRT DJ bike – a sustainable bicycle-powered roving DJ stage, a giant birthday cake, an interactive marching band led by pop legends Stealing Sheep, Walk the Plank’s famous creative workshops, and an exciting music programme – all guaranteed to create memorable moments at some of Salford’s best free events.

Appearing earlier this summer at Sounds From The Other City, the Sounds ‘Round Team brought joyous celebrations to the 20th Anniversary of the multi-venue festival, debuting their iconic Birthday Cake accompanied by a Marching Band, who led the community in procession around The Crescent on Chapel Street.

Next up: Swinton Sounds on Sunday 1st June, where you can expect another magnificent parade around Victoria Park with the SRT DJ bike in tow, blasting out the best tunes to set the mood.

A joyful parade scene featuring a person riding a decorated tricycle with a large, colorful canopy structure. They wear a party hat and a “Walk the Plank” hoodie, smiling as they lead a group of performers. To the left, another person in similar attire walks alongside. Behind them, people dressed in bright costumes play instruments and wave pink flags among the trees.
