Measures have been put in place by the government to respond to the Omicron variant to slow its spread.

Calling local businesses

If you’re a business located on one of Salford high street areas we’d love to hear from you. We’ve secured Welcome Back Funding to support local high streets and we want to work with you to help attract locals and visitors back to high street to support businesses in the city and residents employment.

We’ll be rolling out our Home is on your high street campaign over the coming months, with a range of activity. There’ll be outdoor media, PR activity, social media campaigns, videos and some local event activation.

We’re looking for local businesses to get involved, be part of our ongoing campaign and help us showcase what our great high streets have to offer. Plus, we’d also love get your views on how best we can help your local area and support our high streets.

With funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the Welcome Back Fund project, we’re promoting the city’s high streets to help encourage visits to these amazing city assets, increase spend in the city and support employment opportunities on the high streets.

This funding will be used to support the return to high streets safely and help build back better from the pandemic. It builds on the £50m Reopening High Street Safely Fund (RHSSF) allocated to councils in 2020 and forms part of wider support government is providing to communities and businesses, to protect jobs, support the most vulnerable and ensure no one is left behind as we continue to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic and begin to build back better.

Salford City Council is receiving funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the Reopening High Streets Safely (RHSS) fund to support the safe reopening of high streets and other commercial areas by helping to establish safe trading environments for businesses and customers.
