Narratives of Britain: Christy Burdock

Christy Burdock captures contemporary stories within small communities in Britain, making the mundane and commonplace a source of beauty and interest.

She shines a light into quiet pockets of everyday life by immersion in different parts of British society. For this exhibition, Christy has made new work based on research on the most ordinary areas of Salford in the form of drawings and paintings. These are exhibited alongside a body of work based on research with remote hill farmers in Northumberland.

With historical, political and philosophical research relating to current and community affairs, Christy seeks to illuminate, and in so doing, pay homage to her subjects.
