Salford Nocturne

Chris Hoy at the Salford Nocturne

Saturday 30 August

Thousands of spectators turned out in force for a rare sunny day at Salford Quays to welcome home some of our Olympic cycling heroes at the Salford Nocturne.

Star of the show was three times gold medallist Chris Hoy who took part in the roller race time trial while fellow medallists Ed Clancy and Geraint Thomas competed in the elite criterium race once the sun had gone down. Added to this was the corporate challenge and the fun-filled folding bike race complete with cycling businessmen! With a capacity crowd, DJs and a range of food stalls this was a great day out for fans and non-fans alike.
