Dragon Boat Race

The sights and sounds of China came to Salford Quays last weekend with the return of the annual dragon boat race. Over 2500 cheering visitors turned out to watch the 40ft-long decorated vessels - adorned with a dragon's head at the front race across the water to the accompaniment of drums.
The free event saw 36 teams compete throughout the afternoon while entertainment on dry land included lion dancing, an international food court and craft displays and demonstrations. Congratulations to the overall winners Wing Yip!
