Salford Film Festival 2008

Salford Film Festival 2008Film Festival PresentationAudience

The city's very own film festival is back and returns with a bigger and better line-up than ever with 9 nine days of screenings and events. All the action takes place from Saturday 15 - Sunday 23 November.

This year the festival celebrates it's fifth year and will once again be showcasing the best local film making talent from the city and around the region. We've brought together a fantastic mix of classic films, hidden and hard to see cinematic gems, international shorts, premieres, community films, documentaries and animation. There's also workshops so you can get involved and have a go yourselfand for the first time - a youth festival element to the programme. There really is something for everyone, and of course once again it's all FREE!

The Salford Film Festival has a simple plan:

  • to promote and raise the profile of Salford as an area of creative excellence in image media.
  • to focus on the community of Salford using moving image, still image and self-image.
  • through the production and screening of new productions the festival will encourage the development of links regionally, nationally and internationally and encourage and promote new media work.
  • to give new film makers a platform to screen the films and show-off their talent.
  • to give audiences the opportunity to enjoy unique, memorable and entertaining films, all for FREE!

Venues

Once again the festival will be screening at a range of venues across the city, and this year we've ventured out to more venues than every before, making it easier for everyone to come and join us and enjoy the films.

  • The Lowry
  • Salford Arts Theatre
  • Vue Cinema, Lowry Outlet Mall
  • Salford Museum & Art Gallery
