Rules of the rink

For a safe and enjoyable experience on the ice rink, remember:

Please do:

  • make sure your skates are properly fitted and correctly laced
  • wear gloves if possible
  • skate in an anti-clockwise direction
  • obey any instructions by the ice marshalls or manager
  • think of other skaters on the ice
  • have fun!

The following is prohibited:

  • sitting or climbing on the safety fence around the rink
  • chipping, throwing or spraying ice
  • skating at excessive speeds
  • smoking, drinking or eating on the ice
  • carrying young babies on the ice
  • skating in chains of more than two people
  • skating under the influence of drink or drugs

Safety

Helmets will be available for all children to hire at £1 each. It is recommended that all children wear helmets for their own safety.

Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult on the ice and children under 12 must have an adult present. 

Photography

Please note that all persons entering the rink consent to any photography, filming and recording as authorised by the management/Salford City Council for possible future transmission or promotional purposes.
