Right Royal Regatta

Right Royal Regatta

By royal appointment this summer...

150 years ago Queen Victoria graced us with her presence here in Salford when she visited Worsley as part of her royal excursion to Lancashire. Thousands flocked from Salford and beyond to catch a glimpse of the Queen

This summer history repeats itself as the royal occasion of 1851 is brought to life once again in our Right Royal Regatta. On Saturday 16 July join our regal re-enactment, wave your flags and raise your voices as Her Majesty The Queen, Prince Albert and the Earl of Ellesmere travel down the Bridgewater Canal once again our fantastically fun tribute to this key point in Salford's history.

Check out our photo gallery of the surprise royal visit to Worsley ahead of the Right Royal Regatta.

Download the Right Royal Regatta flyer which gives more information on the event as well as a map of the route.

Queen Victoria and her subjects will be travelling along the Bridgewater Canal from 2pm.  There will be plenty of chances to cheer and wave as the flotilla of boats passes by or why not meet the Queen herself as she disembarks along the way?  Worsley Green is the final destination where Her Majesty and her subjects join the Worsley Village Festival. Look out for some special surprises along the way too!
