Agecroft Hall

Salford's heritage is so world famous, a major piece of it emigrated over the water to take up residence in America!

Agecroft Hall was built in Agecroft in the late 15th century and for hundreds of years was the distinguished home of England's Langley and Dauntesey families. At the end of the 19th century, however, Agecroft fell into disrepair, and in 1925 it was sold at auction. Thomas C Williams Jr from Richmond, Virginia, heard about this amazing opportunity and snapped up the hall. He then painstakingly dismantled the hall, brick by brick, shipped it over the Atlantic, and rebuilt it in Virginia where the hall still stands today!
