I'm happily married to Norma (no children). I like cooking, reading, watching wildlife documentaries and The Unit and I also enjoy photography - besides the obvious (triathlon, in case you need to ask!). I consider myself to be game for a laugh and love to entertain and spend time with my grand children (Norma has children from a previous marriage).
I'm currently working as an LGV delivery driver supplying the healthcare sector around Salford, Manchester and Stockport. I’m also studying for an HNC in Quality Management Systems at college evening class. I recently had some good news - I start a new job as a Quality Assurance Advisor (matching my college course) with Daniel Civil Engineer Contractors! I take up my post at the begining of August and am really looking forward to it.
I am a fund raising member of Friends Of Mulanje Orphans and their latest project, Challenge Mulanje; this is to raise £75,000 to build a technical college for the older orphans so they can learn trades and get out of the cycle of poverty. We have had several fund raising events and are planning more and more.
I am also planning a 5km & 1km charity fund raising fun run in my home town of St. Helens for Sunday 14 September 2008, website soon to be up and running.
I'll be 37 on 14 May and this will be my first full year of triathlon training with Tri Team Wigan and I have felt I have real benefit from their expertise and experience. I feel so much fitter and lively as a person, both physically and mentally; further to this my healthy diet helps me to help my body become a better endurance ‘machine’.
